I would have to disagree with you on that. Just because everyone is doing something doesn't make it right, even in a free market system. Sometimes people do things because everyone else is "doing it", despite it being the dumbest thing you could do. In fact, diversity clauses are a great example of how "everyone is doing it" is impossibly stupid.

Validation of this kind is impossible. I can't speak to the markets you and Lizzie are referring to. I don't believe that her validation is a good basis from which to start, but as I said...I don't know the market. I have several friends who have built beautiful products using Oracle core technology, for the media market. They are Indian.
I'm sure they couldn't speak to the ORCL product itself, however. Still, the stuff they made - top notch.

Where Lizzie's "we were here first" MAY be misguided (remember I don't know the market), the "everyone's doing it" argument is equally flawed. It is NOT validation enough. It is validation of a kind, just as "we were here first" is validation of a kind.

BTW, I want to be clear here....this isn't an "angry white man" rant. I firmly believe in EEO and the importance of diversity. But I'd still like to know when IRISH History Month is...LOL. Hell, we Irish were only a few steps above the slaves for many years. I want a month where the Food Channel focuses purely on the many cuisines that are centered on corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and a pint of Guinness.
