No, you got it wrong. Three or four months ago I did get a **** NYC hotel for $99/night, a true bargain, but that NYC hotel a couple of weeks ago.. well...

Expedia.com gave it two stars. But they were Expedia.com's own rating system. I should have been suspicious -- $59.95 is clearly not enough to spend on a hotel in NYC. It was sort of fun, in a way, because there was a merry sense of collegiality among the guests, all of whom seem to have fallen for the Expedia.com rating. Much convivial eye-rolling and giggling in the elevators.

It sure was a bargain, though. And the Starbucks down the block gave you a free scone when you bought your coffee if you mentioned the hotel. A gesture of sympathy, I believe.
