The Naderites will never vote for a retired General. Go ahead ask your relatives if they would vote for Clark in the primary?

The genuinely serious Naderites don't vote in dem primaries, Brian. And when they do they are barely discernible in the count. It's folk who are on the margin between the dems and the further left who will vote a lesser evil vote. Those folk will vote for Clark over Bush every single time.

But I suspect I agree with you about the difficulty he would have getting the dem nomination. The little I know about him is that he would be going after the DLC vote and with Lieberman, Kerry, and Gephardt all doing so and better funded, it would be hard for Clark to get traction. Plus the way the primaries are stacked, lots of big ones early, it's going to be hard for an outsider to crack through. Too much up front money needed.
