Hi KB,

For all practical purposes, I've resorted to a strategy of buying/shorting only in significant oversold/overbought situations.

However, my wife and I have 401K's which only allow infrequent trading. I think I get one trade per month. As such, we've been pretty much been in cash since for the past few years.

I am looking at the current market situation and am thinking of going long with this 401K money. The markets have undergone salvo after salvo of bad news, and just plain does not seem to want to go down any more. Any approach of 1300 and selling stops cold. There is little fundamental basis for calling a bottom here, but elections are beginning to rear their heads, and I suspect a cyclical bull market will be engineered, to begin unwinding in Sept/Oct next year.

Given that some pundits seem to think another plunge is in the cards, I would plan to average in over the next 6 months.
