Dave-
I thought that you were the buyer who was making the stock move yestereday. Ha! But you haven't missed much yet. Yesterday's price action completed a Tower Bottom, as it's known in Japanese Candle theory. It's a bullish signal, so there is a lot more upside here.

The spread in EPS estimates is due to the presence of ultra-conservative estimates (or just the presence of analysts who treat this company like all the others [it's not just like the others]), and to at least one analyst who is aware of the great possibilities and then dreams on a bit more. This spread has existed for most of the few years that I have held this stock. And the dreamer has been close on numerous occasions...

The company's drilling program has been very successful, so they keep increasing production plans. If natural gas maintains current price levels '98 eps will be $2-2.50. If it rises nicely then the upper limit is reachable, but I'm just counting on stable gas prices.

Swift has joint ventures with UPR, Snyder Oil, and several others, so they tend to spread the risk and reward around.

Earnings come out next Wednesday, and my recent discussion with the company skirted the earnings report, but basically indicated that current holders will likely be quite pleased 6 months from now.
