I thought it was interesting that NVLS's Hill said that forecasts of June quarter bookings fell sharply in the past two weeks, but analysts didn't ask what the number was 2 weeks ago. NVLS has had a track record of conservative forecasts and honest estimates. Considering that the reaction to SARS is described as "hysteria" and it seems to be spreading, possibly out of control, it is a bit disingenuous for analysts to jump on NVLS by saying either they are affected more than their competitors or they are blaming SARS for other company specific problems. NVLS denied both of these in the conference call.
