Or not- if they didn't believe we would do it- which I think is the case. Looking backward you can see what was in the minds of our administration, but I suspect no one outside the US expected the US to do what it did. I could hardly believe it myself. Shoddy pretexts, no real compelling interest- who could believe it? I still can't. It was a very strange thing to do. But since I live here, I hope it turns out well for us. I don't see how it can, but strange things happen.
