"I bet when Bush spoke today at the Boeing plant he neglected to say that even though the budget he signed today for the war had aid to the airlines and extended the unemployment for aviation workers, the whitehouse was opposed to those provisions;he would have been booed out of the factory!"

I doubt it...I haven't taken a commercial flight on an F-18 recently.

Not all the airlines are in trouble, e.g. Southwest, JetBlue, etc. Delta just yesterday introduced a low cost carrier today called Song. The problem with the majors is that they have been strangled by the Pilots/Attendants/Mechanics Unions. Their wages are totally out of line and yet the unions refuse to play ball. The handwriting is on the wall for the old airline business model and those who fail to recognize it will soon be out of work. When they re-apply to Southwest, JetBlue, etc. it will be at much more realistic wage levels.
