The perception of people around the world of U.S. foreign policy is dramatically different then the perception of people within the U.S. We shall see how things play out in Iraq. I wouldn't be surprised if whatever government winds up existing in Iraq becomes repressive in the long run and the U.S. tollerates it so we can keep the oil flowing. We certainly tollerate other repressive regimes in the Middle East to keep the oil flowing, like Saudi Arabia. What's all this crap about Syria now? Weren't 15 of the 19 highjackers Saudis? Aren't the Saudis funding terrorists? Isn't it funny how quiet our media is about how abusive the Saudi regime is and their connection to terrorism? Something doesn't add up.
