"This war was was not necessary" or even "This war did not accomplish it's initial objectives of destroying WMDs".

OK, if I read you right, the statement, above, that you made, is your main hang-up correct?

(I'm going to assume a "Yes" answer here.)

"This war was was not necessary"
Who are you to come close to knowing that?
Are you privy to U.S. Intelligence, of all classes, to really 'know' that?
I don't think so. . .
So, why else would you say that?
You do not like war and want to avoid it no matter what and if there IS a war, fight and try to prove that it was not required even though it has already happened knowing that you cannot change it resulting in just a waste of time.
. . . or, you think our Government is lying to you and YOU know better! Hey, think about that. . . That's really a lame reason, right?

"This war did not accomplish it's initial objectives of destroying WMDs".
How do you know that it has not been accomplished?
How long do you think it should take to find where they are all so cleverly hidden?
You are still 'guessing, without knowing' what you "want" to believe rather than believing what our Intelligence has uncovered and chosen to tell us. On top of that, you think we should be operating on Your time-table and as the result the WMD have not been found yet, the war is a failure because it has not accomplished anything.
Yes, I'm trying to guess at your answers. . . pretty close so far?
It has never occurred to you that things take time to do. Relax and let things take their course.

If the polls are skewed and don't make much sense, so what? Ignore them! I do!

"A similar majority also thinks that Saddam attacked the World Trade Center."
Do you really believe that?! Hey, I have a gold bridge to sell you!
Sounds like you believe everything you hear & read! Want my bridge?

If that were really true, YES, "The majority of American people are sadly uninformed.". . . but I tend to think that the majority of Americans are smarter than that. . . Give us a break, OK?

I tend to also think that Saddam hated us enough to get involved with terrorists which would be a perfect means for him to get back at us. . . selling them some of the chemical / biological things they have developed. He'd just love to see someone kill a bunch of us!

Now, I can hear you say all sorts of things that justify why you do not think he would do that. . .

So what?!
What it boils down to, is you are willing to gamble thousands of OUR (Americans) lives, possibly even yours, that he would not do that. To me, that would be a very poor gamble. We "know" that he hates us and would really want to do it (don't we?)! Am I missing something here?

OK, Tiger. . . That's the way I see what you're after. . . If I am wrong, please state, exactly what your mission is here.

Thank you,
Joe

edit:
"Where I differ from many who are polled. . . "
Why do you care so much about POLL results?! Don't you know a POLL can be designed to get the results the designer wants? You should not put so much emphasis on polls!
