I must be missing something, because it sometimes seems people are overreacting. Good grief, even unsinkable Jay Chen is worried ... !

The WHO says there are 3k cases worldwide, and 4% fatality rate, attention being paid to rigorous quarantines, and its less contagious than flu.

"If this were influenza, we'd have one or two million cases in the world now, instead of 3,000," he said.

If there's a silver lining to the anxiety it may be as shake-down for some future viral epidemic

"We hope this will be a wake up call for China and the world, a call to prepare for the bigger epidemic that one day will come."
