You know how the widespread use of antibiotics is leading to new resistant strains of viruses, right?

I made a D in my one high-school biology course (none in college). But I thought antibiotics didn't work on a virus...

You're right........and the use of anti virals are not that widespread to act on viruses the way antibiotics effect on bacteria.

Something else is motivating the development of these new strains or maybe its just the way the ecosystem works.
