The image files I make with Drive Image are slightly less than half the size of the drive I'm imaging using high compression. It depends on the makeup of the drive. The more system files and the fewer data files the less DI can compress the image.

With today's large hard drives, the only practical way to manage images is with a second local hard drive,IMO. Unless one has limitless patience.
