As a Catholic I can tell you most assuredly that the Pope is only considered infallible when speaking "ex cathedra" on matters of faith and morals. On matters of politics, finance and sports, Popes, Bishops and Priests can (and frequently are) every bit as fallible as Chirac, Pelosi, the NY Times or Tim Robbins--MK--
