I was responding partly in jest to your "EXECUTE" statement. Before responding, I brough up windows with LRCX and NVLS's quarterly reports. From what I could see, NVLS did much better in the March quarter. Sales were up 9.6% and shipments were up 23% from the previous quarter. They did not give order data in the news release. During the conference call, I think I remember an order number of $210M which was less than $238M revenue and $235M shipments. Single quarter comparisons are suspect in this environment. Industry numbers are lumpy and company quarterly results are affected by the order patterns of a few large customers.

Repeat after me: "NVLS and LRCX and KLAC compete with AMAT, ASML...DOESN'T!!!!"

I rate my 8: AMAT, XLNX, LLTC, MXIM, KLAC, NVLS, ALTR, ASML. KLAC and NVLS are at 5 and 6 because of AMAT, ALTR has 31% of the market to XLNX's 51%, and ASML is European.

ASML has been the most successful semi-equip during the past 10 years if you base success on going from nowhere to the number one position in it market. It is changing some business practices to become more attractive to US investors. A switch from UTEK to ASML is just about the same as selling your Yugo and buying a BMW.
