Jim: I saw some benchmark tests on the AMD k5 and x5 chips that
beat the P90 and P100 so if they plug into the 486 boards then it
stands to reason a lot of people might want to upgrade, especially
considering the price. The wavetable's getting excellent reviews
and I'd guess that's why Compaq is using it. Compaq is going after
the business market with low-cost desktops so they might use a lot
of AMD stuff in those if they want to shave expenses; AMD's parts
are just as good as any and most people look at the brand name of
the PC first. Now, if we can just get somebody to tape Garzarelli's
mouth shut, and also that guy over at MSFT, then we're all set.
