U.S. taxpayers will soon fork over $80 billion for a "down payment" on the war, and the ensuing occupation and reconstruction could cost hundreds of billions of dollars.

It's funny how quickly the U.S. government will spend $80 Billion to destroy, occupy, and rebuild another country. My my, what we could do with $80 Billion right here in the good old US of A. Build a state of the art high speed rail network. Rebuild every blighted inner city in America. Rebuild our crumbing schools. Repair every bridge that needs repairing. I can't believe that the American people actually support sending their hard earned tax dollars overseas when they could be put to good use right here at home. Insane!
