My other beef with the extreme right today has to do with this issue of being 'unAmerican'.

When did it become unpatriotic and unAmerican to have an opinion? When did the people who voiced their opposition to war policy become 'traitors'? As long as these people are simply protesting or voicing opinions, how could you possibly even *think* that is unAmerican?

If being anti-war in general is unAmerican, then we have a huge class of unAmericans in our midst: namely, the clergy.

In fact, I counterpropose that anyone who calls someone a traitor for simply expressing an opinion is *themselves* unAmerican, by the very definition of America. Protection of free speech is one of the basic pillars of America, and those who condemn others who express their thoughts are attacking the Constitution.

Thanks for letting me get that rant off my chest.
