Very possibly these animals were rare animals that would command big prices in the international animal market (for zoos, etc). Relative to the vanished Republican guard, they may crop up later as Iraqi guerilla fighters, although they will no doubt be called "terrorists". Or they may just decide to chill out in civilian clothing. Namaste! Jim
