Those are what I called accidental.

Even that number is like 5% of the population and it is an underestimate as they don't count those that haven't been diagnosed. In countries like Botswana, Zambia the rates are very high and life expectancy is falling. I wouldn't call that accidental.

Medical injections are likely implicated too in spreading the disease in Africa. In China blood donations with dirty needles.
