Agribusiness in China and the Illinois town of Ray. Agribusiness in China appears to be very low tech and needs help to improve. Slowly the skills and techniques that the developed countries no longer have can be supplied by countries like Brazil. Take tannery, for instace, if you buy a very expensive piece of footwear, most likely the material and the technician who make it possible was a Brazilian. That because there you still find cost effective manpower for works that no one wants to touch in the developed world. The Illinois town Ray talks about with the industry closing down and the mayor seeking to construct a library or imrpovig roads is part of the same problem. People shun work and they have priced themselves out of the market. Hence the capital should leave Illinois until the people there deflate to a point when they think working in whatever industry is a good idea. Everything is connected, that's wgy one has to know the whole construct and not only bits and pieces of it. The Chinese could ask Brazil to help them out. In Brazil, agribusiness is integrated, from the chicks and piglets to the supermarket. The agribusiness supplies the chicks, for small farmers, supplies the veterinary assistance to vacinate them against sickness and control quality of the feedstock, The small farmer just supplies the land and the caretaking of the animals untill they grow up and are ready to the slaugherhouse.
