I don't think there is such a habit or phenomenon. The dislike is a specific reaction to specific acts and policies.
If you examine the events in countries that dislike Americans, you will easily find the reasons for that dislike. Usually the reason is continuing support for regimes that are despised by their own people.
For instance, Americans are not disliked in Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, and other places that had no history of being killed or occupied by Americans.
I am unable to think of a single place where Americans are disliked for doing good things. I think there is no such place.
Hurting from a wound is not merely a habit. It is a human reaction.
