Definitely that storm. 1970 something. North Sea, between the Wash and the Hook of Holland. I was only in my second year as a commercial diver, and seeing the grizzled oil patch veterans walking around in their survival suits and looking scared got my attention! As the storm wound down in the following two days I could measure the height of the smaller swells against the rig legs of the Penrod 64 which was 1/2 mile away. 16 feet between horizontal beams on the rig legs and I was seeing two and two and half section waves as it grew calmer!
