Stimulous will not help this economy if the fundamental structural weakness is not addressed. Bush has tried to bring the U.S. back to an old resource based factory-centric economy. Neither the local resources nor the cost structure will support that kind of emphasis on unskilled labor. In the mean time he encourages the export of high skilled software and engineering to asia and india by allowing the computer industry to be turned into a monopolistic subscription based enterprise instead of an innovation centric center of excellence.

The stimulation has already been wasted. Business is not waiting for capital. Stimulation may prevent deflation, but it will not put people into jobs.
