Thanks. Nothing wrong with honest intelligent disagreement. It's at the heart of our strength as a democracy to safely and honestly express our views. The majority should rule, not the loudest or the richest, though those are certainly influences.

In the late 60's Nixon talked about the "silent majority" and had a point because war-protesters were being rude, name-calling and making tons of noise. These days, though we're not in such a crisis, the noise is in the media. Every morning I drive and listen to radio. Every morning it is the same thing, blistering attacks against "liberals".

Tim Robbins is the target de jour this week. And as if Tim Robbins has any real political power and is therefore worth attacking. The right-wing largely control our government, but instead of them getting down to the hard work of fixing problems, they attack a minor artistic figure like Robbins. You would think Robbins is running for president or something. Instead, he is just a convenient symbol. He protested during the war. As is his right.

The other thing the right-wing is doing is stating people like Robbins are anti-America. They are definitely not, they just anti hard right-wing. And therefore Bush-Cheney. And as I remember the right-wing was attacking CLinton-Gore every day even more aggressively. And did Democrats ever call them "anti-American". This is the big lie being told today in the right-wing media, as they ignore our most important problems.
