I challenge you to find any post of mine that says Israel should exist because any deity gave it to them.
My belief is similar to the arge majority of Americans. Israel exists, and will continue to exist, as a homeland for the Jews, as an escape from the Holocaust, as a democracy (albeit not perfect).
If you are asking if there are religious zealots among Jews, the answer is of course. However, I'd suggest that the percentage of religious zealots among Jews is less than among Catholics or Muslims. Even Emile, your guru, has pointed out that most Jews in US (and I'd suggest Israel also) do not follow these views and take a pragmatic approach to the survival of Israel.
If you're claim is based on a post referencing history, then I agree that I have posted that Jews have been in those lands at least as long as the Arabs. I think it's foolish to get into the debate of who was there first. Similarly it is foolish to argue that we need to leave the USA because we took the land from the Natives.
History evolves. Israel will survive because it is a democratic nation, a refuge and protection from tyrants, and has the support of the USA AND ITS PEOPLE. No amount of hysterical (not historical) distortion by you and your ilk will change that. |
