This one was scary for a few moments, but got worse for two of my sisters.

Again, back when I was 14 or 15, I was flicking matches into a little divot of a pond right next to the lagoon. It was surrounded by three foot high marsh grass that was so dry that it was brittle. Remember, this is the height of a drought. Well, it seems one of the matches that I was flicking missed the little pond and landed in the marsh grass. No problem, they always go out before they land....yeah, right. So I walk home and am listening to some tunes in my room. A little while later, a bunch of fire engines roar past. And then, 30 minutes later, all of the fire engines pulled up into our driveway...BUSTED!!! or...maybe not. The fireman is carrying my sisters' wet clothing. They knock on the door and ask my parents to see my two sisters. Seems that they had been down at the swimming hole about 30minutes before I was there. They went swimming and were smoking cigarettes. When they left, they left their wet swimsuits, cigarette butts and empty match book at the swimming hole. The neighbors fingered my sisters' for the two acre marsh fire. But I knew that I started it. I felt very guilty about letting them take the fall. So, I copped to it.....15 years later.
