I use a sort of hybrid between bullish percent and high/low for finding market tops. But it's a fallback plan to catch what my VIX oscillator misses. And I found that the best VIX oscillator signals are confirmed by somewhat-high readings in my hybrid indicator. But when the VIX misses the hybrid indicator comes to the rescue by giving extremely high readings. But those extremely high hybrid readings have only been observed 4 times, and one of them was the reaction to an even stronger bottom signal, and therefore had to be ignored.

If you look back to late November I was in sell mode because of the top that I saw with the VIX oscillator, and then again in early January I observed another top. Both calls were reasonably timely. The January call was followed in February by some confusion on my part as to how to read what I saw at that time.
