Paul.....This could be a great title for the book you should write!


At least an essay or article. I should write down my thoughts, I have been doing a lot of thinking about global anti-Americanism and I think most people have it wrong.

There's the Jacobian school of American bad behaviour causes anger. There is the resentment/envy school, America is resented for it's success. There is the failed Socialists school, American capitalistm beat socialism so people resent America.

Alhough there is some truth to all these schools of thought, I find none of them compelling. I think the core issue is trust. In a global world, people are forced to trust America heavily. 'Forced to Trust' is a paradox people have to work out for themselves. It will take time and America must demonstrate that it is trustworthy at a new level.

Interesting times.
