Aircraft Carriers- I think it depends on the threat level the Aircraft carrier is facing. Dealing with Pakistan is not the old Soviet Union. A few escort destroyers, one submarine wtih good sonar, and one full size deystroyer with ani-aircrft capabilites could reduce vulnerablity to a Pakistani type threat. If you can augment that with naval patrol version of long range Bear bombers, you would be pretty safe. The type 98 tank is an interesting upgrade - heavy on electronics, navigation , accuracy, and shoot on the move capabilites. Laser defense capability is a great addition also.
