To Anyone:

My son recently purchased an iPod for Windows. When he loaded the software on his Thinkpad A20 running Windows 98SE he received a message he had to update to Windows 2000 or newer. He recently upgraded to Windows 2000 Pro and the install went well. However, when he ran the Apple cd this message appeared: "Error writing to temporary location" The cd works fine in my machine except it says I also must upgrade from Windows 98SE. I am stumped.

Would be grateful for any help as the lad has gone ballistic having paid for the upgrade disk. Looks like a long weekend.

TIA
