<Everyone knows what is right and the decisions, after building a consensus, are easy.>

Ouch, the fundamental thing about "consensus" is specifically that "everyone" does not
know what is right.

"knowing what is right" (and wrong) is interestingly one reason why the USA constitution,
although heavily contested, was considered something moderatly modern in 1780, as a
protest against exactly that.

That is why many say that the most important task of Bush II is to go back to the days before
enlightment, to pick up those dropped and left behind.

Others just need to go back to the latest local war, visit the local graveyards and talk to some
(older) relatives to balance some 10 years of peace with war, both as civilians and
soldiers.

Will be interesting to see if the real scare was the lifting of Iraqi sanctions, as well as the sunshine
politics of the Koreas.

Everyone do not have a little embargo Cuba and some homely North Ireland civil war in their
civilized front yard.

Who knows, maybe Blair actually was somewhat "truthful" when he went on and on about
how important it was to make Bush II go though UN, and now he has to explain why
not even that worked.

Btw, France does not have that many problems with going to war, they have participated in
another one, still do, although few american media has noted it. Additionally with more than
miniscule progress.

France even volunteered to go to Bosnia, although even many americans who could be
expected to be more informed, either really mix it with Kosovo, or just are smart
enough to not specify which one they are talking about.
