The one thing the Israelis and the chikenhawks in the Bush administration do not want is a democratically elected government in Iraq. Such a government would be composed exclusively of fundamentalist Muslim leaders who will reopen the pipeline to Syria and cancel the Zionist dreams of reopening the old pipeline from Mosul to Haifa. We must also remember that Israel's Operation Shekinah calls for full control of the Basra oil field as well as a reopening the Basra pipeline running through the Golan Heights which was closed after Israel occupied the Heights. Interesting developments for those who have a grasp of Israel's geopolitical ambitions.
