Yes these were my first look conclusions too. But I was wondering if anyone here wants to investigate and debate the issues at a greater depth than the article.

For example, could we argue that moving manufacturing and service jobs (IT support, programming, online teaching, etc) outside will put a lid on the kinds of returns we can expect in the West? Does it make it more prudent to invest in multinationals instead of the rest of the market? Or should we find ways of investing in China and India?

One of my concerns about the long term investment prospects in the West is the demographics. India and the Middle East have very young population mix. For example 50% of Iranian population is under 25 while half of Iraqi population is under 15. In 10~20 years most of Western population is over the hill to way over the hill. It is only natural to consider that Asia will be counted upon to provided labor as well as resources.
