Here is another one, although I didn't see the ghost, this story was relayed to me through my Mother.

When I was little my Dad was a commercial Salmon fisherman. If feasible, my Mom, sister, brother and I would hop in the car and Mom would drive all night to meet him whenever he came into a port to off load and resupply for the next trip out.

In those days it wasn't unusual for people to drink and drive and my Mom loved to bring a couple of six packs along in case she got thirsty.

On one such adventure (Mom called them 'adventures') we were on our way to Neah Bay Washington to meet Dad. He had a full hold and wanted to get in to see the family, take a shower ect........

The road to Neah Bay was notoriously treacherous.......very narrow and lots of curves and cliffs. As my Mom related the story; It was around midnight. Mom had drank quite a few beers and was just cruising along in her usual fast paced way. She said that all of the sudden my Grandfather.....who had, btw died 10 years earlier......suddenly appeared in the seat next to her. She said he just sat there with his arms crossed with a scowl on his face. He would look at her, then look at the beer in her hand, then back at her.

My Grandfather had always told my mother that when the kids were in the car he forbade her to drink and drive. He said "it is one thing to kill yourself, but I'll be damned if I'm going to sit by and let you kill those kids." Mind you my mother just loved this old timer.......he was her shining light in an otherwise hostile world.

Mom said that she opened the window, threw the beer out and took deep breaths of fresh air to sober herself up. About a mile down the road she went around a very large curve and ran smack into the densest fog bank she had ever seen. A logging truck was nearly stopped due to the fog. She admits that if my Grandfather hadn't been there she would have just continued on her way more than likely hitting that logging truck head on at a very fast speed, killing all of us.

M

PS in all of the close encounters with danger or death in my life, I'm convinced that I have a few guardian angles protecting me, and that one of them is my Grandfather.
