Re: European sales

There is one important aspect concerning the explanation of slowing demand in Europe that seems to have been overlooked so far:

The economy in Germany (and other european countries) is in terrible shape!!!

Of course that leads to a slowdown in the sale of consumer products as well as products bought by companies. Now, computer related items (even a hot product like the zip drive) are hit from both sides. Since there is no sign of a fast revovery of the economy here, I wouldn't expect a huge growth in sales at this point coming from the European side. Add the vacation effect, and the Q3 numbers will likely fall short of the Q2 European numbers. Naturally, the christmas quarter should give a great boost in Europe also, and hopefully, by then there will be signs of a growing economy again.

So growth for Q3 has to come from the US and Asia! Hopefully the OEM deals will show some effect already too.

BTW: Ads by computer resellers here in Germany essentially always call the zip drive the new standard. And, I did not see any significant number of Syquest drives stocked anywhere (most shops don't carry them at all), not mentioning the LS-120.
