That's sort of my point, it's the 'amatuer' that has come along and shattered the paradigm:

I believe even Einstein did not 'book' his way to his realizations, but had realizations and then went on to do his work in order to explain them.

Yea, especially when it's known that paradigm shifting discoveries or events always come from entirely different level of realization than what is currently accepted, and often from OUTSIDE the "scientific community".
