The most likely place is one which will give them more bang for their buck. Such a place is clearly Saudi Arabia.

A few well placed bombs and oil is suddenly at $75 or more a barrel and the hated House of Saud is given a tremendous blow, if not toppled. An Islamofascist's dream come true.

Depends on what kind of bang they want from their buck. A few suicide bombers - low tech, and something they are very familiar with - blow up a bunch of American oil company people, and what happens? Companies start pulling their people back, and you have American soldiers trying to arrest prominent Islamist figures, probably fighting mobs in the process. That makes much better TV than blowing up oil facilities.

Lots of potential targets, both inside and outside the US. I expect them to look outside. Cheaper and easier.

Islamist terrorists don't only want to hurt the US. One of their main goals is to convince Muslims everywhere that America is at war with Islam. To do this, they have to provoke retaliation.
