Two "most-wanted" Iraqi officials in custody

(Updated at 0500 PST)

BAGHDAD: Two more of the 55 Iraqi officials wanted by the United States have been apprehended, a foreign news agency reported quoting the official sources on Monday.

Iraq's former scientific research and higher education minister Human abd

al-Khaliq al-Ghafar was captured Saturday and was in US custody, Lieutenant Herb Josey said at Central Command's war headquarters in Qatar.

Centcom also said that the Iraqi National Congress reported holding another wanted official and son-in-law of Saddam Hussain, Jamal Mustafa Abdullah, deputy head of Tribal Affairs Office, who was being turned over to coalition forces in Baghdad.

Both men appeared in the "most wanted" deck of cards issued by the US military.
