Authorities said Scott Peterson knew he was being tracked. And when they caught up with him Friday in San Diego, they said he had dyed his hair and grown a goatee and was carrying $10,000 in cash.

Peterson is likely to face capital murder charges in the death of wife Laci Peterson and their unborn son.

Modesto Police had sought an arrest warrant a day before the two bodies were identified because he was worried Scott Peterson might flee to Mexico.

Peterson is being charged with two counts of murder in the death of Laci Peterson and the couple's unborn son, Connor. He is expected to be arraigned later today for capital murder. That means he could face the death penalty.

The family of Laci Peterson is planning to make a statement later in the day.

Laci Peterson had been missing since Christmas Eve. Her husband has repeatedly denied any involvement in her disappearance, but police have focused on him from the beginning.
