Hi Mahler One,

>>Hazard a guess as to why silence reigns supreme?<<

Beats me. I've long since ceased wondering about the PR policies of this company. My first comments on this board years ago had to do with the seemingly intentional obfuscation in presenting product and sales information.

By the way, I did do a search on this before posting, but failed to use the initials NBB ;)

FWIW, I'm seeing a lot of activity in the ether concerning new buildouts such as this one, where non-traditional architectures are being discussed. Here are a couple of papers from the IEEE and one from the FTTHCouncil that may be of interest to some:

ieeeusa.org
ieeeusa.org
ftthconference.com

Some alternative architectures once thought to be blue sky (customer-owned facilities, "workable" HF/W's, e.g.) are now coming to fruition in certain parts of the globe (Sweden, CA, even this NBB model). Stay tuned to my thread if interested. I'm gathering information on these as we click.
