"Resolved by Peaceful means." For sure. When the all hysterical crowds of Cairo (Damascus too) were chanting - led by Nasser and Oum Khaltoum, remember Oum, the "Nightingale of the East":

"Slit, slit, slit the throats of all Jews,
Kill, kill, kill all the kids of Israel."

And it was ending with Nasser prophetizing :

"Tomorrow I shall dance on the smoking ruins of Tel Aviv."

Apparently you were too young... and those history books you read have been rewritten.
