That seems to be a hallmark of the administration - hit a home run and then stumble rounding third. Remember when GWB started to hit stride after 9-11 and then promptly starting talking about a "crusade" and wanted "dead or alive"?

Another weekend laugh -
... The administration opined that the US military occupation is deliberately using a minimalist approach in order to encourage Iraqis to take control of their own government.

Worth noting - Garner has just started a four day tour of Baghdad in order to assess the situation. Just in time to shut the barn door.
