Not so sure about nuclear. One of my biggest concerns with nuclear is the fact that it takes so much government subsidies to keep the nuclear industry running, like government subsidized insurance for the nuclear industry and a costly government nuclear waste disposal site in Nevada. Nuclear has proven to be relatively safe over the years, so that isn't really my concern. I guess if we could build enough nuclear power plants to get us off ME oil, I might support such a proposal. But, there's no way the oil cabal is going to propose a plan that will kill their ME oil gravy train.

I'd prefer other alternatives like wind, solar, biomass, fuel cells and hybrid vehichles. There's a whole lot we could do to make our economy more energy efficient as well to lessen our dependence on ME oil. As the article that Ish just posted regarding turning animal waste products into oil demonstrates, where there's a will there's a way. We can find alternatives to ME oil.
