He can claim the CIA misled him.

If the KGB had mislead Blair, the voting public could accept that. Those guys were always better then ours. The CIA wouldn't wash though. You have to draw the line somewhere on "lack of intelligence" :-)

I just been discussing the Galloway situation with my wife. We are both of the suspicion that the evidence was planted. It's my view that MI6 would have done it. It would have been a breeze with all those documents lying around in Baghdad. The telegraph reporter then just picking it up where it would have been placed near the bottom of a pile. They would not have published it though without a nod from somewhere important.

Galloway played with fire visiting Iraq and talking to the Iraq regime. Gave it acceptability. He can't be surprised at whats happening, and yes there is an off chance that there may be some truth behind the accusation by the Telegraph. He is welcome to fight that fight though. Great start "I am not a traitor" -ggg-

My wife is appalled that such tricks might be played.

Fact is there is good and bad on all sides. Yes "Red Ken" Livingston did the right thing talking to the IRA. That turned out to be far sighted. No he did the wrong thing sending IRA funds, and no he did the wrong thing banning funds to the Boy Scouts because they were "militeristic" as if the IRA wasn't.
