Just FYI - Kosovo is a province of what is now known as Serbia and Montenegro (ex-Yugoslavia). Nationbuilding doesn't apply beyond peacekeeping, reconstruction and general development within the larger legal nation that Kosovo belongs to.

FWIW, nationbuilding in ex-Yugoslavia seems to be progressing at a decent pace considering the legacy left by Milosevic.

After my experience in Bosnia I can see similar problems in Iraq. Three distinct groups that were forced together in a "nation" before may not be so interested in sticking together now.

But I doubt it will make much difference whether the US or the UN tries to play Humpty Dumpty here.
