Plenty. The mere fact that we are paying off Mubarek, went to great lengths to reinstall Emir of Kuwait, have backed away from the promises we made to Afghans, etc, shows that we have not changed much. It is just that without communism threat we do not feel the need to indulge our client regimes as much as we used to.

As to the greater issue of our role in international affairs, I cannot see how we could possibly bring about a meaningful change so long as we are unwilling to take an objective look at ourselves...I believe it is the first step in the AA program for a very good reason.
