Medi has mentioned more than once that mrk's (4-valent) and medi's (2 or 3 (?) valent) hpv vaccines are very similar. Medi has also said it thinks mrk infringes. Mrk seems to agree about the conflict. From mrk's recent AR:

"There are competing claims to intellectual property in the HPV field, but Merck is confident that the claims will not delay our program."
