Jacob - Many urban black and native rural communities remain in 2003, pockets of poverty and social chaos, (=pain and suffering), equal to that seen in the shantytowns of Mexico, Brazil, Indonesia.

Have you been to Mexico and Indonesia? As a family friend from an African tribal village said when visiting us and meeting some blacks in a slum, 'You have no idea what poverty is. You have clean running water, you have food, you have TV.' I have no doubt that there are people in the US who do not have TV or do not have running water, but it is pretty darn rare compared to other countries of the world.
