The problem with what you say is found anytime you talk among a group of Israeli sabras (born in Israel) or those who are heavily partisan towards Israel. I've done this several times among my Jewish friends, some in the US and some I made on my travels.
If you say something like "it's fine to support Israel, and I love the culture, but the gov't is insane, kind of like ours. I'll fight to the death to protect my family and my country, but not Saudi Arabia, Israel, Columbia, etc. What the Bushonians are doing is turning America into Israel, with terrorism a daily natural occurrance. I hate that."
You'll see among the crowd a simple reaction: nodding of heads, and a very telling silence.
There are many people who hate Arabs with the same passion that Arabs hate others, and have no compunction of bringing the "big teat" US into their blood feuds. No hesitation whatever, until it is pointed out, clearly, that the US is supporting Israel militarily to the detriment of all Americans (except the political and financial war profiteers), and Americans are being killed, not just their treasury robbed, for others' agendas. |
